The rumored update to the banner system inHonkai: Star Rail3.2 may exclude two characters who initially seemed like obvious choices, according to new leaks. Version 3.2 is just a few weeks away as developer HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG has entered its second half and, with it, introduced Mydei as a playable character to the game. While the attention is mainly centered at the current moment, there have been numerous leaks about the next patch, and one of the most notable ones cites a massivechange to banners inHonkai: Star Rail3.2, which may permanently exclude certain character reruns.

These rumors indicate that HoYoverse will create a group of characters for players to choose from, and these units will then compose their 50/50 loss pool. The idea is that, beyond the seven characters from the standard banner, other premium characters will be made available and, if players select them for their customized 50/50 loss pool, they will have a chance to obtain them when they fail to pull the featured 5-star in character banners. Furthermore, players may start to obtain anew item inHonkai: Star Rail3.2, which allows them to purchase these characters from a new shop.

Jing Yuan & Silver Wolf May Not Join New Honkai: Star Rail Banner System

The Leak Also States Several Anniversary Rewards

The selection of characters provided by HoYoverse has not yet been revealed through leaks, much less confirmed by the developer itself, which hasn’t even acknowledged the changes to banners, but it seems like two characters may have already been excluded from it. According to information provided by the leaker known as UncleGreekMilk,Jing Yuan and Silver Wolf will not join the 50/50 loss pool for the upcoming system. The leak was shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” onReddit. Effectively, these twoHonkai: Star Railcharacters won’t be able to be selected by players to form their loss pool.

Optimizing Mydei’s build in Honkai: Star Rail can result in a stellar amount of damage output against enemies if you tweak his stats correctly.

In addition to the information about Jing Yuan and Silver Wolf, the leaker also mentions that there is a lot planned for the game’s second-anniversary celebration, including a free reward – which does not contemplateCastorice or Anaxa inHonkai: Star Rail. Regarding the rumored exclusion of the two characters from the leaked new system in banners, as seen in the comments on the Reddit post,HoYoverse is actively testing and changing the characters that will be made available in the loss pool, which is why leakers have previously abstained from mentioning characters that will be added to the system.

Honkai: Star Rail’s New Banner System Was Expected To Add Older Characters

Jing Yuan & Silver Wolf Felt Like Obvious Choices For The Loss Pool

As much as the new leak shouldn’t be considered definitive just yet,the rumored exclusion of Jing Yuan and Silver Wolf from the updates to the banner system is contrary to what was expected. Overall, this new rumored system seems like a means of making older characters – mostly those who haven’t kept up with the meta and, therefore, lacked rerun banners – available to players rather than locking them out. With the game’s continuously expanding roster, it’s only natural for some oldercharacters inHonkai: Star Railto be left behind, and this new system seems like a solution.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 Banner Leaks Have Been Updated With A Disappointing Character Swap

New leaks about Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 indicate that there have been a few notable changes to the reruns scheduled in the banner lineup.

Jing Yuan and Silver Wolf quite literally match those parameters.Jing Yuan was the second premium character to be made available following the game’s release, and Silver Wolf was the third. These are fairly old units that haven’t kept up with the meta all that much. Silver Wolf is still very useful thanks to her unique ability to inflict new Weaknesses on enemies, but that may end soon with the arrival ofAnaxa inHonkai: Star Rail. The upcoming character is rumored to inflict Weaknesses across all enemies rather than an individual target, which would make them powercreep Silver Wolf.

Anaxa is said to be able to inflict new Weaknesses with nearly every type of attack and can allegedly even inflict all seven Weaknesses at once on all enemies via their Ultimate.

As such, both these units felt like obvious choices for the rumored upcoming system.Units like Jing Yuan and Silver Wolf have already started to become obsolete and, with the recent and upcoming character releases, they will likely be less relevant than ever, so their presence in rerun banners moving forward shouldn’t prove to be too profitable for HoYoverse. So, making them available for players who want them in a way that allows the company to continue to push more profitable characters would make sense for the new rumoredHonkai: Star Rail50/50 loss pool system.

This does not mean that Jing Yuan and Silver Wolf couldn’t be added to the system after its debut, however. It even makes some sense why they aren’t being put in the initial lineup:both Jing Yuan and Silver Wolf had reruns recently, so HoYoverse may be holding back on their addition to the rumored system. Jing Yuan was made available in a rerun banner in Version 2.7, throughout the majority of December 2024. Silver Wolf appeared even more recently, during theHonkai: Star Rail3.0 bannersas part of a triple rerun in February this year.

What Characters May Be Added To Honkai: Star Rail’s New Banner System

Some Characters Have Been Absent From Rerun Banners For Over A Year

With the rumored exclusion of Jing Yuan and Silver Wolf from this alleged system, there’s still speculation about who could be added to the initial lineup of characters from which players will form their 50/50 loss pool. One of the most obvious character choices that could be made available is Seele. The first premium 5-star character, Seele was quickly powercrept by other releases and has fallen into disuse. The Quantum DPS hasn’t been available in banners since Version 1.4 in her only rerun banner inHonkai: Star Rail, so she would be a great candidate for the updated banner system.

Memory Of Chaos Update In Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 Could Finally Make You Pay Attention To Team Comp Lineup Orders

A new leaked mechanic added with Memory of Chaos in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 may force players to carefully think about their team lineups.

A few other possible choices for this system include Blade, Luocha, and Topaz & Numby. Blade’s last rerun was in Version 1.6, between late December 2023 and mid-January 2024. Luocha’s last appearance in banners was in Version 2.1, between late March and mid-April 2024. Topaz’s last rerun was in October 2024, during Version 2.5. Based solely on these characters’ absences from the banners and how old they are, they would be great initial characters for the rumored loss pool system. However, there may be another factor that is considered when adding them:buffs to old characters inHonkai: Star Rail.

If HoYoverse plans on buffing some of these older characters, it may not make sense to put them into a system that devalues them.Instead, the developer may opt to hold back on adding them to the system to feature them in reruns as a means to push profits with revamped characters who are beloved by the community. This could even be the reason Jing Yuan and Silver Wolf are rumored to be excluded from the upcoming system, for example. The developer hasn’t commented on which characters will be buffed nor when this should take place inHonkai: Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail 3.2 Leaks: Remembrance Trailblazer’s Worst Feature May Be Corrected With Castorice

Leaks indicate that there may be a change to the Remembrance Trailblazer’s auto-combat behavior with Castorice in Honkai: Star Rail 3.2.

For now, however, these leaks should be considered with caution, as they may be incorrect, incomplete, or, most likely, highly subject to change as HoYoverse makes adjustments to the new updates ahead of its rumored release in Version 3.2. Even so, this will likely be a massive change to how players acquire characters in the game, especially when they may not have to wait months or even years for rerun banners inHonkai: Star Rail.
