AStardew Valleyfan has shed new light on an old post, reminding fans that the cozy and warm farm life might be a bit more nerve-wracking than they realize. While the title is known for being a fun and peaceful way to pass the time, it appears that everything is not as it seems, and living outStardew Valleyin real-life could be anything but peaceful.
A recent Reddit post fromPuzzled-Ad4256showcases an old Tweet that explains why one “might have a bad time” if they decided to live inStardew Valley. The Tweet mentions the fact that the home fans are introduced to at the beginning is condemned, the townspeople are constantly asking for help and the economy completely depends on players' farming skills. While some may dream of living within a bustling small town, it seems that most agree with the original Tweets sentiment.

An Economy Entirely Dependent On One’s Farm Seems A Bit Scary
Maybe The Cozy Life Is Not So Cozy…
Taking on the life of a farmer within theStardew Valleyuniverse might look good on paper, butfans realized almost immediately within the Reddit thread that the actual lifestyle could be daunting. There are plenty of reasons why teleporting into the title would be offputting, such as a broken-down house on the edge of town, but one commenter brings up a few other good points.
“There Is A Wild Coyote On The Farm”: Stardew Valley Creator Addresses New Glitch
Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe has a fun in-fiction explanation behind a recently discovered glitch that results in missing chickens.
Bubbly-Sun_Beam states, “Also, your house has no bathroom or kitchen until you buy it. I don’t know about you but eating raw vegetables exclusively for six months at least doesn’t sound to appealing”.This is a good point,as basic amenities must be purchased and built rather than being present at the moment fans start their journey.Basic needs aside, running a farm in itself is no simple task, as one fan ofStardew Valleylearned the hard way earlier this year.

Our Take: Farm Life May Not Be What We Thought
Feeding Animals, Traversing The Mine, & Harvesting Crops
WhileStardew Valleydoes pass the time and keep fans entertained,it would not be as easygoing and calm in real life. The sheer amount of tasks that need to be completed daily on a farm is enough to turn most away from the title being brought to life. Having to traverse the mine and being attacked by slimes while hoping you brought enough salad to refrain from passing out is another entity of its own, which is made very apparent by commenterFifiiiiish, as they state:
“What do you mean I need to go mining in the monster’s pit of hell if I want a better sprinkler? Can’t I just order them on amazon?”

Little things such as this makeStardew Valleywhat it is though, and even though I personally would love to own a massive amount of land, ship off cranberries, and tend to my truffle-spawning pigs, it is probably best that we leave those things in-game.
