The Fantastic Four Get a New Design for a New Mission

Fantastic Four #23by Ryan North, Carlos Gomez, Jesus Aburtov, and Joe Caramagna

There’s seemingly no corner of the universe that’sout of boundsfor the Fantastic Four, including the most minuscule ones to exist. That said, it stands to reason that pushing the Reducta-Craft to extremes means the team will need some extra protection. Their new look comes equipped with helmets, allowing them to breathe safely even at preionic sizes, and has the additional benefit of padded shoulders and knees for any unexpected scrapes. It’s the perfect blend between “protective” and “spacesuit,” which seems particularly apt given their discovery that OMG Particles are actually alien-housing spaceships.

The Fantastic Four typically wear some version of their black and blue uniforms, but they’ve changed things on multiple occasions. From the shockingly white Future Foundation uniforms they used after Johnny’s death toThe Fall of the Fantastic Four’s sudden pop of red, they’re known to mix things up if there’s a reason. The one dependable feature is the “4” logo in the center, and the new uniform may win the prize for its glowing update. With the world rapidly changing around them, vampires walking in the sun, and Doom taking over the Sorcerer Supreme mantle, the FF was due for an update - even if it’s temporary.

The Fantastic Four Are One of Marvel’s Most Adaptable Teams

While the Avengers and X-Men rotate members, the Fantastic Four is typically comprised of the same faces. Some heroes, like Spider-Man or Crystal Amaquelin, help in extenuating circumstances, but it’s largely up to Sue, Reed, Johnny, and Ben. Luckily, the FF’s penchant for exploration and seeking out seemingly impossible solutions to equally impossible questions goes a long way to keeping them relevant. Whether it’s unbelievably tiny aliens or Doctor Doom becoming the world’s highest magical authority, they’re always ready to leap into the thick of the problem. Now TheFantastic Fourhave debuted a uniform encompassing their ability to adapt.
