5The Final Arc

Everyone’s All Grown Up Now

The final arc ofHaikyu!!doesn’t actually feature Hinata, Kageyama, or Nishinoya playing together for Karasuno. Instead, it takes place a few years after graduation and shows what the players are up to after high school. It still features the same characters playing the same sport as the rest of the series, butit doesn’t feel the same with Hinata and Kageyama playing on opposite sides of the court.Part of what makesHaikyu!!so exciting are the temporary feelings that can come from high school sports.

15 Most Inspirational Haikyu!! Moments That Will Motivate You

Haikyu!! is a hilarious and fun watch with wonderful moments that inspire its fans.

The team is temporary and yet the moments last forever. In the world of professional sports, however,Haikyu!!separates most of their main cast into subsections that aren’t as fun as when everyone was together. While The Final Arc still has a lot to offer,it doesn’t really compare to when Karasuno plays as one.Still, there are no bad arcs inHaikyu!!and the final arc is still a mostly satisfying epilogue for the series.

4Karasuno High Team Formation

The Beginnings of One of the Best Sports Anime Ever

The first arc ofHaikyu!!is a great one. It introduces the viewers to Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, two of the most ambitious young volleyball players around and alsoone of the best rivalries in sports anime. Hinata doesn’t have much of a team in junior high and instead brings together a makeshift group through his sheer excitement. Kageyama is the exact opposite, reigning over his skilled squad like a tyrant. Eventually, the two meet at Karasuno High where they grow to become nearly unstoppable.

Haikyu!!‘sanime is produced by Production I.G. the same team responsible for hits likeGhost in the ShellandPsycho-Pass.

While the first arc, the Karasuno High Team Formation arc, doesn’t have the same high-flying matches that come later in the series, it does feature wholesome bonding moments. No great team is formed overnight, and it’s exciting to see the beginnings of both Kageyama and Hinata as they overcome their differences andlearn to work with each other’s strengths for the good of the team.

3Tokyo Expedition Arc

The Tokyo Expedition Arc is one of the most fun arcs inHaikyu!!.It features Karasuno as they’re invited to a training camp filled with tons of great players from other teams. The most notable team invited to the training camp is Fukurodani Academy, a team with one of the best players in the nation in Bokuto Kotaro.Bokuto is widely accepted as the fourth-best ace in all of Japan and his wisdom helped Karasuno players a lot, none more so than Kei Tsukishima. Tsukishima’s normally a reserved character, too cool to show emotions, but Bokuto brought the best out of him.

One of the funniest moments in the arc came when Karasuno found out their reward for playing so many games was a meat-packed lunch. The character’s reactions to getting a little more protein in their diet were hilarious. The meal worked as Karasuno’s players hit the courts with a little more of an edge, knowing such a good meal was coming their way.

Haikyu!! Taught Me a Very Important Lesson About the True Value of Anime

Anime such as Haikyu!! inspire us to join the characters in their pursuit of a particular skill or dream.

They head over to Shiratorizawa and investigate their future opponents. Ushijima, unperturbed by their presence, mocks them for coming “from the concrete” as they are nothing more than country bumpkins to him.In an exciting moment of defiance,as Ushijima is leaping in the air to catch a rogue ball,Hinata jumps in front of him and grabs it.Ushijima is shocked when Hinata hands him the ball and introduces himself asHinata from the concrete, someone who’s going to beat Ushiwaka.

1Tokyo Nationals Arc

Karasuno vs. Inarizaki High is Haikyu!! at Its Best

The Tokyo Nationals Arc is by far the best arc in all ofHaikyu!!.It hasn’t even been animated yet, and one of its most important matches was turned into a movie, but that doesn’t matter. Karasuno High vs. Inarizaki High isthe greatest volleyball match inHaikyu!!and in all of anime.

The Miya twins are two of the greatest players Karasuno ever faced, and together, they pulled off jaw-dropping moves Hinata and Kageyama could barely keep up with. One of this match’s greatest strengths is its sound design. While all of the matches in the series have great, booming music behind them,Karasuno vs. Inarizaki sounded fun.

10 Best Haikyu!! Manga Covers

Haruichi Furudate’s dynamic and youthful art comes alive on the covers of this sports manga icon.

It had such great jazz thatCowboy Bepopfans would get jealous. When the Miya twins were flying through the air, the court sounded like a dance floor. The smooth saxophone mixed with the sharp horns made this game feel like a party. Even on screen, the sound is used to create a sense of tension for Karasuno players.

The Inarizaki band is playing its orchestral music before the team serves, when Atsumu Miya raises an open hand in the air. He closes it abruptly, making a solid fist and silencing the band in an instant. Astumu controlling the band before he serves is one of the coldest moments in the series, juxtaposed against the red-hot match being played in front of him. All of this adds up to making the Tokyo Nationals ArcHaikyu!!‘sbest arc.
