One of the ways thatDragon Ball: Sparking! Zerocalculates a character’s strength through Destruction Points (DP), which determine the"cost"of every fighter. When assembling a team, you may spend a limited amount of DP on a group of iconic warriors to form a team. When making your squad, you must consider a character’s DP value to see if they will work with other fighters you’ve recruited.

Normally, every character in the game has five base stats -HP, Attack, Ki, Combo, and Special Attack. While these do not always inform a fighter’s DP value, a character with high stats will often have a high DP cost. You can investigate the stats of a particular character by going into the Encyclopedia menu, which lists characters you’ve unlocked inDB: Sparking! Zero.

Which Characters Are Missing From Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero (& Why)

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has a giant roster, but six characters from across the series are missing. Thankfully, future releases may include them.

The many forms and transformations of certain characters can make it hard to tell the DP cost of fighters with latent potential. As a general rule, fusions and the highest transformations possible for a fighter have the highest DP cost. For example, the fusion character Gogeta always has a high amount of DP, while the base form of Goku or Vegeta who make up that character does not.

When thinking about a character’s possible DP value, the strongest fighters are usually tied to their strength in theDragon Ballcanon. If a fighter is considered the strongest in the series, they will likely have a very high DP cost.

Despite DP not being the sole explanation of how strong someone is, it does determine how much space they take up in a team. The most common DP limit is 15 for online Ranked battles, but other modes may have other limitations. Those confident in their skills with strong characters may want to have a smaller team with high-cost DP fighters, while others may want a balanced group of multiple characters of varied strength.

Due to the abundance of characters who canfuse or transform inDB: Sparking! Zero, it may be best to choose characters of lower DP. By sacrificing the power of a heightened transformation, the Skill Points you accumulate can allow you to reach an alternate form later. For example, it is more expensive to have Goku Black (Super Saiyan Rosé) than a Goku Black who can transform into his Rosé state during a battle.
