What This Means For Toxic Town
Toxic TownBlends Procedural & Personal
Toxic Townis based on a true story, with the trailer indicating that the narrative will blend a procedural story with a more personal narrative. On the one hand, it is of the utmost importance that the protagonists collect enough evidence and go through the proper channels to seek justice against those who allowed their town to be built up against a toxic waste site. On the other hand, the issue is an emotional trial for the lead characters, most of whom are parents who want the best for their children in a system that has failed them.

While Whittaker takes the lead in this trailer,Wood also plays a key role inToxic Town. The actor got her big break playing Aimee Gibbs on the hitNetflix showSex Education. She played a high school student exploring her sexuality and dealing with serious issues, such as sexual assault. Playing a young, concerned mother,Toxic Townappears to be a turn towards a more mature role for Wood. The show’s events seem to take place over several years, so the acting demands for the role itself are also increasingly mature.

Our Take On The Toxic Town Trailer
Jodie Whittaker Is A Great Choice For This Role
It seems that Whittaker is in her sweet spot in theToxic Towntrailer. While she is perhaps best known for playing theThirteenth Doctor in the hit BBC seriesDoctor Who, Whittaker was also a vital character inBroadchurch. In this series, she also played a concerned mother, who, in that case, was grieving the devastating loss of her child. She will apply herBroadchurchskills to this new role inToxic Town, which also demands she play an intensely concerned parent who will do whatever it takes to seek justice.
