There Have Been Rumors That Daisy Ridley’s Rey Will Return In Levy’s Film

What Rey’s Return Would Mean For The New Star Wars Movie

While Sneider’s reports should be taken with a grain of salt,Rey’s return would obviously provide a major hint regarding the timeline of Levy’sStar Warsfilm. Unless the character is drastically aged up or she appears as a Force ghost, the film would seemingly take place not too long after theStar Wars: Rise of Skywalker’s ending. Though Ridley’s return in Levy’s film remains a question mark,Rey will appear inStar Wars: New Jedi Orderfrom director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, with that film following Ridley’s character as she attempts to build a new Jedi Order.

Ridley has hinted thatfilming onStar Wars: New Jedi Ordercould begin next year.

Levy’s other comments during his appearance on theHappy Sad Confusedpodcast could be seen to debunk Rey’s potential return, however, as the filmmaker hinted that his movie will be standalone and not set during a familiar section of the timeline. While the era immediately afterThe Rise of Skywalkerremains relatively unexplored on film, such a setting would still bring with it some creative restraints and would likely necessitate a level of collaboration with Obaid-Chinoy. For now, it seems that Levy wants to keep details regarding hisStar Warsmovie under lock and key.
