After a decade ofThe Sims 4being EA’s primary game inThe Simsfranchise, players have gradually seenthe game’s Create-A-Sim mode improve. WhenThe Sims 4initially released back in September 2014, players were excited by how much more advanced Create-A-Sim appeared to be compared to previous installments. With a more in-depth facial feature creator, new hairstyles with better texture movement, a broad selection of clothes, and more, Create-A-Sim inThe Sims 4added so many details that one could spend hours just creating Sims alone.

Many content packs andexpansions released forThe Sims 4have presented all sorts of new add-ons for Create-A-Sim mode. From gothic clothing and hairstyles that had not been seen inThe Simsfranchise prior toThe Sims 4,to werewolf skin features, teeth, and more, the effort that EA has put into Create-A-Sim mode is obvious. However, one feature is still lacking overall —eyelashes have barely been included inThe Sims 4.

The Sims 4’s Create-A-Sim Mode Needs More Eyelashes

A Recent Addition Isn’t Enough

Traditionally, eyelashes inThe Sims 4have been typically represented by a basic, horizontal black line that slightly protrudes across the upper eyelid, which is not a realistic representation of eyelashes in real life. As they currently stand inThe Sims 4,the eyelashes add unfortunately little depth to a Sim’s appearance, failing to deliver on players' desire for realism from a Sim that they created.

The Sims 4 already has plenty of Collections to complete but now the community is sharing their top suggestions for some unofficial Collections.

AsThe Simsis ultimately a life simulator game, the lack of proper eyelashes became an increasingly sore point as the years went on.The Sims 4’srecentLovestruckexpansiontook the first major step toward correcting this problem, and aCreate-A-Sim update that launched alongside it finally added a new category for eyelashes. With only two options in the base game, however, it still feels woefully incomplete.

Makeup Looks Are Incomplete Without Eyelashes In Create-A-Sim

A Letdown To Overall Sim Customization

Over the course of the last decade, mods forThe Sims 4have become a common solution for more realistic eyelashes. Many existing mods offer the ability to create highly detailed, 3D eyelashes that allow for aesthetic creativity, and the work of creators likeKijikoexhibit extensive customization for different styles with unique lengths and volumes. In a time when makeup is a thriving industry,no extensive makeup application can be complete without some form of enhanced eyelashescompleting the look. Without more extensive options, the current makeup system that exists inThe Sims 4ultimately feels incomplete.

Going Back To The Sims 2 Showed Me Everything Wrong With The Sims 4

I tried The Sims 2 again after mostly playing The Sims 4, and it made me realize that it’s not just nostalgia talking when I say that it’s better.

Players have been able thus far to enjoy customizing a Sim’s makeup in Create-A-Sim with almost all makeup categories except for eyelashes.Significantly expanding the selection of eyelashes would bring more consistencywith all the other levels of detail that have become available in the game over the course of the last ten years. Now that EA has announced thatThe Sims 5isn’t currently in development, the continued focus onThe Sims 4will hopefully make the addition of more eyelashes a significant priority.
