Cat Quest 3 Review: More Of The Same, Improved

Cat Quest 3, Pirates of the Purribean, adds pirate ships and more humor to the epic adventure of the series while continuing its overarching story.

Finding Dratcula

Exploring Eight Bit Castle

The first step to finding and beating this boss is toget to Eight Bit Castle. You are going to want to look for this castle in the very top Northwest of your map, in the middle of the maze-like islands. If you navigate your way to the front door, youwill have to blast through it to make it inside. Once there, you’re able to begin exploring Eight Bit Castle and try to find Dratcula.

There is aparrot at the entrance where you’re able to healbefore you are going to want to head to the right of the door and up the set of stairs at the end of the hallway. This will lead you to the second floor, at which point you want to head up the stairs to the left.

Arat mini-boss will be waiting on the third floor, as well as a few bats, so be prepared to fight when you exit the stairs.

Again, you will want to head up the next set of stairs, andupon arriving on the fourth floor you will see a paintingwith torches on either side of it. You will want to interact with the “mysterious painting” and keep interacting with it until you have exhausted the dialogue entirely. It willopen up a new path for you to follow. If you need a more visual representation of this area, you can check out thevideo from 100% Guides.

To find the new path,go back the way you came to the second floor, and this time you’re able to go all the way across the the stairs going up on the right. Take them and you will find another rat enemy with a pair of vampire bats. Once they have been defeated, there are two sets of stairs going up, you are going to want togo to the one on the far right.

You will find yourself in a hallway full of skulls and bones, andthere will be another rat enemy with several bat friends. Defeating them will open a new door, and you will want to keep going up until you reach the Final Floor, where there is another parrot to heal if need beright before you face Dratcula.

Dratcula Boss Fight

Moves & Strategies

The fight itself can be fairly simple if you are around the right level for it. Itcan be fun and different because of Dratcula’s moveswithout being too challenging. His primary move will be a slash, which is telegraphed by him moving back a bit first just before he slashes. He also has a Fireball attack, wherehe will jump into the air and through 3 Fireballs out to you.

The last move is another jump, wherehe will attempt to get above you and come down with his sword attempting to impale you. If he drops below half health, he will finish this move with Fireballs coming out of the ground. The best strategy against him is touse ice spells and ice attacks to freeze himand keep him from being able to move against you.

Boss Fight Rewards & The Mysterious Painting

In the room with you is a chest that you canopen to get the Bloodsucker sword. This is a great weapon to have to take on other toughbosses inCat Quest IIIand can do a lot of damage. Take it and head back down the way you came until you reach the third floor where you originally took the far right stairs to get to Dratcula. Now you will want to take the stairs up to the left. Another chest is waiting for you, which will reward you withDratcula’s Topper, a hat that can steal 5% of damage dealt as health.

The Bloodsucker sword will take 10% of damage dealt as health.

Take the closest stairs to the chest down to get back to the main entrance. Go back up the first set of stairs and return to the Mysterious Painting. Interact with the painting again and the last chest from the Eight Bit Castle will drop, giving you Dratcula’s Coat, which has the same ability as the hat. After that, feel free to leave the castle behind and continue on with your next adventure inCat Quest III.
