The film is an upcoming action-comedy starringJamie Foxxand Cameron Diaz as former CIA spies who are pulled back into the espionage lifestyle when someone reveals their secret identities.The movie is making its premiere on Netflix in less than one month, releasing on the platform on July 13, 2025.Back in Actionis directed by Scott Gordon, who has previously worked on other action-comedies includingIdentity ThiefandBaywatch. In addition to Diaz and Foxx,Back in Action’s cast includes Glenn Close, Kyle Chandler, and Andrew Scott.

Diaz Is Back After Years
Back in Actionis a particularly notable release forCameron Diaz. There was a time when theThere’s Something About Maryactor had a flourishing career in the rom-com genre and industry in general, but that has not been the case in the last few years. Taking an extended pause from acting,Diaz has not been in a movie since playing Ms. Hannigan in the 2014 adaptation ofAnnie.Diaz has been asked about this hiatus, and she has responded that she had to “reclaim [her] life” and focus on her family rather than her career.
Foxx also worked onAnnie, makingBack in Actiona good way for the duo to get back together. As evidenced by both this image and theBack in Actiontrailer, this particular movie will be a great chance for both of them to show off their comedy chops.
