The Cast Has Impressive Credits To Their Names

So far, the Renée Ballard spinoff cast includes Q, Lynch, Taylor, Mosley, Field, Moroles, and Hill. Lynch, also recognizable for hisperformance in the filmZodiac, will play retired police officer Thomas Laffont. He helps Ballard run the cold case division. As for Taylor, who recurs as Janine’s friend Erika onAbbott Elementary, she’ll play Samira Parker. The character is described as an impulsive and tough woman with a desire for justice.

TheBoschspinoff focuses on the titular Renée Ballard as she’s forced to run the LAPD’s new, poorly-funded and all-volunteer cold case division.

Mosley, known for his role as Mason Young onOzark, will play Ted Rawls. A reserve officer,Ted has been assigned to cold cases to keep an eye on Ballard. Field, known for playing Gail inA Star Is Born, has the role of enthusiastic and intuitive volunteer Colleen Hatteras. Moroles, who playedHayden Romero on MTV’sTeen Wolf, steps into the role of sharp legal intern Martina Castro. Hill, who has appeared in various projects, fromCrazy Ex-GirlfriendtoSpider-Man: Homecoming, will play Ballard’s grandmother and greatest source of support.

Q will crossover with Titus Welliver’s Harry Bosch in theBosch: Legacyseason 3finale, with the episode partially functioning as Ballard’s introduction. TheRenée Ballardspinoff, which recently began filming, is based on the Ballard novels by author Michael Connelly. Veteran television director Jet Wilkinson will serve as the director ofBosch: Legacycrossover, as well as an executive producer along with Michael Connelly, Trish Hofmann, Michael Alaimo, and Kendall Sherwood. Although there’s no release date just yet, the project is picking up steam.
