Over its 15 seasons on the air,Bob’s Burgershas produced some amazingly hilarious quotes, and Regular Sized Rudy has been the source of some of the best. The Fox animated series premiered in 2011, featuring almost 300 episodes and even a theatrical movie release. Voiced by Brian Huskey, Regular Sized Rudy made his debut in the third season episode, “Carpe Museum,” and has been one of the show’s highlighted characters ever since.
Easily one of thebest characters introduced afterBob’s Burgersseason 1, Regular Sized Rudy earned his name because there was another Rudy in the kids' school (named Pocket Sized Rudy)and he has since become a close friend to all three Belcher children. He has a very mellow personality that meshes well with the other kids, and he is often closely involved in all of Louise’s schemes and plans. He might even be the closest friend Louise has outside of her own siblings.

10"Just Look At Me."
Season 3, Episode 22: “Carpe Museum”
The first appearance for Regular Sized Rudy came in the third season episode “Carpe Museum.” His introduction comes when he is paired up with Louise on a school field trip to the Museum of Natural History. The two of them sneak off into the closed-off Amazon Room and Bob goes in after them. This Regular Sized Rudy quote happens when Bob meets Rudyfor the first time.
Bob’s Burgers Season 16: Cast, Story, Release Date & Everything We Know
The beloved animated comedy Bob’s Burgers has entered its 15th season on the air, and now the Belcher clan will return for season 16.
It is a hilarious moment as Bob asks the boy his name, and he says it is Regular Sized Rudy. Bob just looks at him and says, “Regular Sized Rudy? Why do they call you that?” Rudy responds, “Just look at me,” to which Bob just says, “Umm, ok.” It is funny at the moment because it seems that people would learn why he has his name, but that wouldn’t be revealed until later. As it is, he was just used to the nickname, and his nonchalance about the question was perfect.

9"I’m Loving Every Minute Of This."
In Regular Sized Rudy’s first appearance onBob’s Burgers, he ends up on a great adventure with Louise and Bob in the Natural History Museum. As they were exploring and on the run from security. Rudy was getting more and more out of breath. Bob makes small quips about thinking he was out of shape until seeing Rudy’s heavy breathing. It wasn’t until they reached a high point in the museum that he finally asked Rudy what was wrong, and the boy explained he needed his inhaler every two hours.
Bob realizes Rudy could die at any minute and Rudy simply tells them not to worry about him.

Bob freaks out and asks where it is and Rudy says it’s in his backpack, and Louise confesses that she made him ditch it. Bob realizes Rudy could die at any minute, but Rudy simply tells them not to worry about him and makes this comment. The moment was not only sweet but also sad. It almost seems like Rudy never gets to have any fun, and likely has very few friends, and even if he is going to die with his lungs shutting down, it was worth it to have this adventure with Louise and Bob.
8"I’m Tuning Nine, And I’m Feeling Fine."
Season 6, Episode 12: “House Of 1000 Bounces”
In the season 6 episode, “House of 1000 Bounces,” Rudy is celebrating his ninth birthday. This birthday party includes a bounce house at his birthday party, but this turns into a crisis and the Belcher kids pitch in to save the day. This quote takes place early in the episode, when Louise and her siblings arrive at the party with gifts andRudy greets them with this strangely rhyming quote, one that he has to pause in the middle of to take a hit on his inhaler.
The gift even helps deliver the punchline when they give him a “holster for his inhaler” and then admit it was supposed to be for pepper spray, but they realize it could work for any spray. The entire thing was a sweet moment with Rudy admitting how nice it was, causing the Belcher kids some discomfort until the kids behind Rudy say their birthdays are the same day, and they like holsters too, allowing a break for humor before the kids realize the bounce house never showed up.

7"I Guess I Care."
Season 7, Episode 9: “Bob Actually”
Regular Sized Rudy is such a good, kind-hearted person that when he has his heart broken, it is devastating to watch. In “Bob Actually,” Louise thinks that Rudy likes her romantically and is going to give her a Valentine’s Day card and gift. While she feels relieved when she learns he likes someone else, she is also a little sad about it. That turns to friendly panic when she realizes he likes Chloe, a snobby girl with a self-inflated ego who considers herself better than Rudy.
Top 10 Most Emotional Episodes of Bob’s Burgers
Never failing to make viewers laugh, adult animated sitcom, Bob’s Burgers is as heartfelt as it is hilarious.
This quote comes when Louise has to tell Rudy that Chloe isn’t showing up to meet up with him on Valentine’s Day because she doesn’t like him, “but, who cares, right?“Rudy’s response was this quote, and it was very sad as he just looks down and admits, “I guess I care.“While Louise tries to tell him to stop caring, it is impossible because that is who Rudy is and why viewers grew to love him as much as they do. The moment even led to a Louise and Rudy kiss.

Season 10, Episode 15: “Yurty Rotten Scoundrels”
In the season 10Bob’s Burgersepisode, “Yurty Rotten Scoundrels,” Louise sees a missing poster for a cat with a reward offered. As expected, this leads Louise to list her friends, including Regular Sized Rudy, to help her find it and concoct a plan to set into motion. However, things don’t really go that well when she is trying to find the cast at first, and she apologizes for wasting her friend’s time. That leads Rudy todeliver aBob’s Burgersquoteto let her know that’s what friends are for.
It also shows that Rudy’s home life clearly isn’t somewhere that makes him happy.

It is even funnier sinceRudy admits his only other option other than helping Louisewith this plan was to help his dad fill up his waterbed, which is just bizarrely specific. It also shows that Rudy’s home life clearly isn’t somewhere that makes him happy, and it makes it even sweeter to know that he considers time with Louise to be the happiest moments of his life, even if it is just trying to make a plan to find a missing cast for some cash (which they never get anyway).
5"It Broke My Heart, Platonically.”
Season 13, Episode 3: “What About Job?”
This season 13 episode ofBob’s Burgershas a wonderfully sad Regular Sized Rudy quote, but not one that he really said. Instead, this was all in Louise’s imagination. Her thoughts spiraled out of control, and she began to stress out about what her future might look like. This happens thanks to a class assignment, and Louise’s imagination sends her into a future that looks a lot like the old noir gumshoe detective worldwhere she and Rudy are “platonic roommates.”
The entire episode hasLouise responding to everyone about her “platonic friends and loved ones"and this includes her “platonic roommate Rudy.” This quote even has Rudy joining in when he says, “We were supposed to move in together as platonic roommates and friends, and then you ran off to Kathmandu. I had to break the lease, and it broke my heart, platonically.” It was ridiculous and over-the-top, but it was also purely something that only Rudy would have said.

4"And I Am Kate Bush.”
In the first appearance for Regular Sized Rudy, he and Louise are paired up on a field trip to the Natural History Museum. They end up sneaking into a closed exhibit and hiding from security. Bob heads in to find them because he said he can’t let them wander off and get into trouble. He sees them hiding in the bushes because of Louise’s rabbit ears, and calls them out. However, the two kids decide to play it off and pretend to be talking plants.
Louise answers, “Who’s Louise? I’m just a talking plant. My name is Leafy Greenbriar.” After this, Rudy decides he wants to play along and he says after that, “And I am Kate Bush,” referencing that he is also plant life. The fact that Louise comes up with a ridiculously made-up name to play off the idea that she is a talking plant and Rudy just name-drops a pop star with “Bush” in her name shows the lack of creativity from the young boy, and also his overwhelming innocence.

3"It Doesn’t Even Matter What I’m Allergic To Chocolate.”
Season 4, Episode 15: “The Kids Rob A Train”
The Belcher kids decide they are going to rob a train of its chocolate when they end up in a different compartment than their parents. This is a wine train, with the kids allowed “but not encouraged.” When they learn about the chocolate fountain, they decide they will find a way to get it and then find Regular Sized Rudy on the train (his dad brings his online dates there). The four work together, and this time,Louise’s plan works to perfection, and the kids excitedly eat the falling chocolate.
This is all good until Rudy makes this quote, and Louise realizes that he is so excited to be getting into trouble with her, that he once again doesn’t seem to his own safety take into consideration . When she asks what will happen if he eats it, he begins to convulse and have a seizure, which freaks the kids out until Rudy admits he is faking it and the chocolate only causes a rash on his back. This was one moment where Rudy was having fun with his friends and actually got one over on Louise.

2"I Kind Of Want To See How This One Ends.”
Season 4, Episode 22: “World Wharf II: The Wharfening”
“World Wharf II: The Wharfening” is the second part of a two-part episode where Felix vows to kill Mr. Fischoeder and Bob and take them out to the pier housing and ties them up under the pilings so they will die when it is demolished. The entire second episode, Linda and the kids don’t believe that Bob is really in trouble, but then when they figure out the danger is real, they get into a paddle boat to go and find him.Regular Sized Rudy is with them, which is concerning based on the danger.
Bob’s Burgers: 10 Side Characters Who Deserve To Be Part Of The Belcher Family
The Belcher family is at the center of Bob’s Burgers. While not blood relatives, there are many side characters who are basically family members.
When Linda offers to send him home, he rejects the idea and says he is going with them because he wants to see how it ends. The punchline after this is even better when Louise responds, “Oh, sweet Rudy, you probably won’t live to see the end.” He simply responds by saying, “Oh,” but it was his entire plan to stick with his friends, even if there is great danger, because that is where he feels he belongs.

1"It’s Ok. God Saw.”
Season 8, Episode 18: “As I Walk Through The Alley Of The Shadow Of Ramps”
In this season 8Bob’s Burgersepisode, Regular Sized Rudy is taking daring jumps on a bike ramp that is actually very low to the ground. However, every time he takes a jump, he is more and more impressed with himself. He even has some fun quips about the jumps, like when he said “You can serve a meal on that flight.” However, the best quote came later when a new passive-aggressive neighbor named Alice moved the ramps to the garbage, so the trash collectors took them.
Louise, Regular Sized Rudy, Tina, and Gene head off after her when Louise’s trike gets caught under the woman’s truck. During the chase, Rudy sees another small ramp and jumps it. When he asks if they saw it, Tina seems confused and Rudy hilariously comments, “It’s ok. God saw.” It was just a brilliant little line inBob’s Burgersto show how proud Rudy was for even such a small accomplishment as he was on a mission to help his friends save Louise’s trike.
