Our Take On The Blitz Trailer

McQueen & Ronan Are A Dream Team

From the beginning of the clip, it’s clear that McQueen is in his element. While the director’s previous work was served on a more intimate scale, his vision translates well to the epic stage that is World War II. It’s clear, though, that McQueen isn’t forsaking intimate drama for blockbuster spectacle.

The story between Rita and George at the center of the film is clearly its heartbeat and will serve as the emotional throughline of the film. It’s a classic story - loved ones separated, searching for each other in dire circumstances - but it’s clear that McQueen’s visuals combined with what is sure to be a compelling performance from Ronan will ensureBlitzis not to be missed.
