A Writing Update For The Spy Thriller’s Second Season

A few months after the show scored a renewal, the latest news comes in the form ofa production update forBlack Dovesseason 2. Star Ben Whishaw is already confirmed to return as Sam Young in the sophomore season, but he had some disheartening news regarding the production. When asked about the production timeline,Whishaw revealed that “It hasn’t been written,” before speculating that “It’s six months, or seven months away, or something.”

To follow up on previous statements, Whishaw revealed a bit about how season 1 was produced.The actor mentioned that season 1 was being filmed as the scripts were still in the process of being finalized, making for a terrifying production experience.

No. Honestly, no. Because actually it wasn’t very written when we did the first season. I was quite terrified because there were not really scripts. There were scripts, but this was particularly sailing close to the wire. So, somehow, it came together.
