The Dark Knight’s Greatest Adventures are Reaching a New Audience

As any Batfan would know, the Caped Crusader has a long history with audio dramas. As early as the 1940s, Batman and Robin regularly appeared on radio programs to capitalize on their incredibly popular comic appearances. Later, in the ‘60s, the Dynamic Duo received new audio dramas on LPs, following the success of the 1966Batmanseries. After experimenting with adapting novels via GraphicAudio, Batman came to the world of podcasts, with the hit original seriesBatman Unburied. That series wasfollowed up by the more comedicBatman: The Audio Adventuresas an homage to the radio programs of old.

DC also released a trailer onYouTubeforDC High Volume: Batman, advertising the first story with audio clips of actors reciting lines from the iconic story. While this isn’t the first Batman audio drama, it is the first timeYear Onehas been adapted. Podcasts are incredibly hot right now and, since Batman’s previous attempts were successful, it makes sense to adapt some of his most well-known stories. This is a great way for DC to expand its base and heighten awareness among fans who might have never had the pleasure of readingYear Oneand other iconic stories.
