A new piece of fan art imagines what the Fire Na’vi tribe will look like for the upcomingAvatar: Fire and Ash. The James Cameron-directedthird installment in theAvatarfranchisewill introduce the “Ash People” of Pandora, thus furthering the series' world-building. The Upcoming Movie Releases In Theaters In December 2025
While plot details forAvatar: Fire and Ashremain sparse, certain elements of the highly anticipated third installment have already been revealed to the public. For once,it will introduce David Thewlis to the franchise as Na’vi Peylak, who will not only appear in the upcoming film, but will also be inAvatar 4and5. Reports were made about Michelle Yeoh appearing in the third film as Dr. Karina Mogue, but she will instead be introduced in the upcoming fourth film.
The leader ofAvatar’s Ash People clan is named Varang, andwill be portrayed byGame of Thrones' Oona Chaplin. Not much is known about them, but they will be the central part of the movie’s story. It is heavily rumored that they will be the antagonists and could even oppose the Metkayina tribe, but Cameron has revealed few details. Nevertheless, thetitleFire and Ashgives the impression of destruction and explosive conflict, and the Ash People could very well be the cause of that.
Though many expectAvatar 4and5to focus on additional tribes within Pandora, there have been rumors that the movies will also revisit Earth.
Stephen Lang is also expected to return as Quaritch, and will be, once again, the main antagonist.
