Following the completion of his masterpiece hit series,Attack on Titan, author Hajime Isayama claimed that he may never create another manga again. Luckily for fans, it seems that statement didn’t come true, as Isayama is set to releasehis first work since 2021 in collaboration with Yuki Kaji, the Japanese voice of Eren Yeager, and illustrated by Noshigami Kai. Hajime Isayama’s Upcoming Manga Has a Strange Title, But Its Creators Are Taking It Seriously

The Theory of a Malicious Man and AI’s full, official title is guaranteed to make some heads turn, and though it was initially conceived as a sort of tribute project, both Isayama and Kajiare reportedly taking the one-shot very seriously. The manga has been delayed on a few separate occasions, as its creators have been thoroughly hashing out the details, story boarding, and finding an artist they deemed suitable for the job. Noshigami Kai is a newcomer to the manga industry, and was selected in a contest held by the two creators.

The announcement of the one-shot’s title also came with a cover illustration drawn by Isayama, despite the famed artist not handling the illustrations for the work. The cover features the AISoyogi Fractalcharacter that acts as a Yuki Kaji voice bank, along with two other characters drawn in Isayama’s signature art style. The Soyogi project was the main inspiration behind the one-shot.
