Due to Shinso replacing Aoyama as a member of Aizawa’s class, asexplained during the ending of the series, his hero name and ranking are also revealed.

Hitoshi chose the name NightHide, referring to his preference for solving conflicts from afar using his powerful Brainwashing Quirk. The alias also goes perfectly with his career as an underground hero, who works mostly at night and prefers to stay hidden from the public to protect their identity. His hero name and choice of remaining outside the rankings seem to be directly inspired by Aizawa, who trained Shinso personally before he became a member of Class 1-A. As such, Hitoshi is the only member of the group who does not participate in the ranking selection process.

When Shinso was first introduced to theMy Hero Academiamanga, he was haunted by the prejudices and insults of his peers. He spent his whole life hearing otherscalling him a villain for having a Quirk that could control someone’s mind. His Brainwashing ability, which easily makes himone of U.A.’s strongest students, caused him to be ostracized for years.
