Andorseason 2’s release date has been confirmed, along with an unprecedented schedule for a live-actionStar Warsshow.Previous live-actionStar Warsshows have mostly followed a weekly release format, except for multiple episodes sometimes being released for the premiere. This was the case forAndorseason 1, which debuted its first three episodes on the same day, and then released one episode per week. The release schedule forAndorseason 2was expected to follow a similar pattern.

Disney has now confirmed thatthe 12 episodes inAndorseason 2 will be released in four chapters of three episodes each. The first three episodes will debut on April 22, and each three-episode chapter will be released in the subsequent weeks. This is the same number of total episodes as inAndorseason 1, but all the three-episode arcs will be released over the course of four weeks, whereas season 1 only did this with the first arc.

Every Star Wars Live-Action TV Show Season, Ranked

Star Wars has dove into live-action TV in the last 5 years with much success, but some seasons have been better than others. Here’s how they rank.

Andorwas originally going to be five seasons, with each season taking place over the course of a year. The last four years have now been condensed into four three-episode arcs. With this updated release schedule,a year’s worth of events in a galaxy far, far away will now be shown weekly. The new release model further condenses a story that would have taken at least several more years to be made and shown to audiences.

Our Take On Andor’s Epic New Schedule

It Can Fix A Season 1 Issue

Due to the structure ofAndor’s three-episode arcs, releasing each arc at once should work well. In season 1, the first and second episodes in some of the arcs felt as though they ended abruptly and with an incomplete story forAndor’s characters, at least until the arc’s third and final episode came out. This issue can be avoided in season 2 through the three-episode debuts. It will allow each episode to flow more seamlessly into the next one and willhelp create more separation between each ofAndorseason 2’s arcs.
