Warning! Spoilers for Cobra Kai season 6, part 3, ahead!

Cobra Kaimay have come to an end with season 6, part 3, but that doesn’t mean theKarate Kidfranchise has to. There is already one spinoff movie on the way in the form of 2025’sKarate Kid: Legends, but the final installment ofCobra Kaiset up several more. Overall, the Netflix series gave each of its characters' stories satisfying resolutions, but a few could easily be extended into new shows or movies in the future. Additionally,Cobra Kaiseason 6 teased intriguing backstories for other characters, which could also be explored further now that this chapter has ended.

Theending episodes ofCobra Kaiseason 6revolved around the championship matches of the Sekai Taikai. After Kwon died in Barcelona, the tournament was relocated to the Valley, where the Iron Dragons, Cobra Kai, and Miyagi-Do competed for the title of victors. InCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3’s conclusion, Miguel Diaz, Tory Nichols, and Johnny Lawrence came out on top—ahappy ending for Cobra Kai dojo(and Miyagi-Do, in a way). It was a joyful resolution for most and a fitting finale for all. Of course, when one door closes, another opens.

10Mr. Miyagi’s Full Backstory

There’s Still A Lot To Learn About Mr. Miyagi

Cobra Kaiseason 6’s three parts each came with significant revelations regarding Mr. Miyagi. It was a tough time for Daniel, who had to learn that his old sensei and best friend might not have been perfect after all. Mr. Miyagi made some mistakes, including killing someone in the Sekai Taikai and committing armed robbery. However, Daniel wrapped his mind around it as he learned more about the truth.

How Old Mr. Miyagi Was In Karate Kid (& When He Died)

Pat Morita’s Mr. Miyagi served as the old and wise mentor figure in Daniel’s life, but exactly how old was he in the Karate Kid movies?

Daniel’s mom ultimately revealed that the armed robbery Mr. Miyagi had committed was actually only an effort to get back an heirloom pearl necklace that had been stolen from his late wife in the Japanese internment camps during World War II. This detail allowed Daniel to move on from his frustrations andlaid the groundwork for a potential Mr. Miyagi prequel series. This man went through a great deal, and it would be exciting for theKarate Kidfranchise to explore this further.

9A Young John Kreese & Terry Silver Prequel

Knowing How It All Ends Only Makes The Story Better

John Kreese and Terry Silver got an explosive and somewhat bittersweet ending inCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3. The pair of old war buddies went out fighting, and Kreese used his final efforts to blow Silver and himself sky high. It was sad to see Kreese go, but his selfless action here earned him a definitive redemption. Silver certainly deserved what he got, and it was fitting that Kreese would be the one to give it to him.

Kreese and Silver’s backstory was explored some inCobra Kai, but it would have been impossible to fully cover the nuances of their history together. It was interesting to see who these men were when they were younger, but only a few episodes were dedicated to the past. A prequelKarate Kidmovie or TV show could spend more timefollowing Silver and Kreese through the war and their time training under Master Kim in South Korea. This would be even more impactful now thatCobra Kaiaudiences know how their friendship ends.

8Master Kim Da-Eun & South Korea’s Cobra Kai

Sensei Kim Is Leading A Cobra Kai Revolution

Master Kim Sun-yungran the original Cobra Kai in South Korea for decades, but that changed inCobra Kaiseason 6 when the old man was killed by his own granddaughter. From then on,Sensei Kim Da-eun became the new Master of Cobra Kai, and it was clear inCobra Kai’sending that she planned to run the dojang far differently than Kim Sun-yung had.

This prospect is even more exciting since Chozen Toguchui joined Kim Da-eun at the end of Cobra Kai season 6, part 3.

We only saw a brief clip of the South Korean dojang as the new Master Kim ran it. A new TV show could continue her story, further exploring the struggles she would face while trying to transition away from her grandfather’s regime. This prospect is even more exciting since Chozen Toguchui joined Kim Da-eun at the end ofCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3. Seeing these two ex-villains working together would be the perfect way to continue the franchise.

7Miguel & Sam’s Adventures In Okinawa

Japan Is The Next Big Step In Their Story

After the conclusion of the Sekai Taikai and their graduation, Sam and Miguel prepared to go their separate ways. Sam decided to study in Okinawa while Miguel prepared to attend Stanford University. However,a surprise twist saw Miguel decide to take a gap year with Sam in Japanbefore his official college career started in the fall.

An Okinawa-setCobra Kaispinoff would be fitting since this is whereThe Karate Kid Part IItook place.

Cobra Kaiteased that this was only a temporary continuation of Miguel and Sam’s romance. Their respective stories have an upward trajectory, but the tease that they may not be endgame after Okinawa is intriguing. By leaving their romance someone ambiguous, it seems thatCobra Kaiwas setting something up here. Perhaps a spinoff movie or series following Sam and Miguel’s exciting adventures in Okinawa, followed by the next stage in their story, is precisely what theKarate Kidfranchise needs.

6Tory & Robby - The Public Figures Of Karate

The World Of Professional Karate Is Bound To Get Interesting

Tory and Robby’s ending inCobra Kaiwas a bit less ambiguous than Sam and Miguel’s. After the Sekai Taikai, the duo was offered a job as professional karate champions. They would spend the next years traveling the globe, competing in tournaments, and posing for photo ops. It was a dream come true for both of them, and it’s easy enough to envision Tory and Robby living happily ever after.

Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 3 Recap: 10 Biggest Spoilers Explained

Cobra Kai season 6, part 3 is finally here, and the Karate Kid sequel series saved some of its biggest twists for the final batch of episodes.

Of course,Cobra Kaihas already demonstrated the potential for drama within the competitive karate scene.Tory and Robby are sure to discover new rivals going forward, and this will almost certainly mean more off-the-mat chaos. They may not technically be Cobra Kais anymore, but these karate superstars would make excellent primary protagonists in a series that explores the broader world of martial arts.

5A Laura Lawrence Sequel Spinoff

Johnny’s New Baby Will Be Raised In The Cobra Kai Dojo

Johnny and Carmen’s new baby, Laura, was finally born inCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3. This little girl marked a fresh start for the protagonist ofCobra Kai, allowing him to prove himself as a father to not only her but Robby and Miguel as well. Unfortunately, the Netflix series' ending means audiences won’t get to see Johnny and Laura’s dynamic as she grows—butperhaps the newest Lawrence can still have her story told.

Little Laura will likely learn karate from her father at Cobra Kai dojo and, like her big brothers, become a fierce competitor. With so much karate talent in the family, it could be fun for a spinoff series to pick up with Laura’s life as a teenager. Such a series could happen at any time, but it might be fun for theKarate Kidfranchise to return to Laura’s story years later. That way, the adult version ofRobby or Miguel could be her teachers.

4Anthony LaRusso As The Next Karate Kid

Anthony Will Have A Unique Karate Education

Anthony had really only just started his karate journey at the end ofCobra Kai. He hadn’t been interested in martial arts for most of the series, but his experience with Kenny inspired him to learn some defensive moves. At the conclusion ofCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3,Johnny and Danielagreed that Anthony would spend some time learning at Cobra Kai before returning to the ways of Miyagi-Do. It’s a tease that could potentially lead to another spinoff.

Anthony could also feasibly become an All-Valley champion himself one day.

With Sam heading off to Okinawa,Anthony would be a fitting character to carry on Daniel’s legacy in the Valley. Perhaps he will be the one to inherit Mr. Miyagi’s home and dojo. Anthony could also feasibly become an All-Valley champion himself one day. The potential for growth here is unlimited, and it would be a shame for audiences to miss it.

3Kenny & Devon - Cobra Kai’s Next Generation Champions

Cobra Kai Season 6 Teased A Partnership

Kenny and Devon were the underdogs of Cobra Kai’s dojo. They were counted out repeatedly, but with Johnny’s older students off on their own adventures, they are sure to be the top dogs in the Valley for the next couple of years. Johnny and Daniel discussed this fact inCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3, noting that Kenny and Devon should spend time training with both Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do so their skills can continue to develop.

Cobra Kaiseason 6 teased the potential for a Kenny and Devon spinoff in other ways as well. These two didn’t have much to do with one another for a while, but part 2 saw Devon sabotage Kenny’s place at the Sekai Taikai. She ended up coming clean, andthe duo developed an unlikely friendship. Given their odd history, seeing this relationship develop alongside their karate abilities would be fun.

2Axel & The Iron Dragons Spinoff

Axel Is The New Johnny Lawrence

The Iron Dragons were fierce competitors at the Sekai Taikai inCobra Kaiseason 6, parts 2 and 3. Axel was especially dangerous throughout the tournament, and the Miyagi-Do competitors frequently referred to him as a machine. No one landed a point on Axel through any of the Sekai Taikai events until the final in the Valley when he was finally taken down by Miguel. Axel may have lost, but he is clearly still a dynamic fighter.

It would be fitting for theKarate Kidfranchise’s next spinoff series to be called “Iron Dragons” since this would continue the trend of past rival dojos becoming the next heroes.

The ending ofCobra Kaiseason 6, part 3 saw Axel denounce Sensei Wolf, butthat doesn’t necessarily meant that his days with the Iron Dragon dojo are over. After his loss, Wolf may subside into the shadows, and this may result in a regime change similar to that of Master Kim and Cobra Kai. It would be fitting for theKarate Kidfranchise’s next spinoff series to be called “Iron Dragons” since this would continue the trend of past rival dojos becoming the next heroes. Just as Johnny becameCobra Kai’s protagonist,Axel could be the same forIron Dragons.

1The Sekai Taikai Through The Ages

An Anthology Karate Series Is A Great Next Step

Cobra Kaidid an excellent job raising the bar for its final season. Audiences were familiar with the All-Valley Tournament, so it was important that theKarate Kidspinoff series introduce new and higher stakes. The Sekai Taikai was full of exciting challenges that were deeply enjoyable to watch. In fact, this competition was such a success that it could be a fantastic foundation for a newKarate KidTV series.

TheSekai Taikai is an ancient tournament, so there are countless stories to explore here. The nextKarate Kidspinoff could bean anthology series featuring a new year at the Sekai Taikai each season. There would be epic fights galore and new characters across dozens of decades in the Sekai Taikai’s history. Add in the fact that each year would be set at a different point on the globe, and there would be a lot to enjoy from this unique series set up beautifully byCobra Kai.
