Discovering the Batcave was a major part of Bruce Wayne’s childhood. Most interpretations have him falling into the cave while exploring the grounds around Wayne Manor, also inspiring his surprising fear of bats, as he was quickly swarmed by them. Decades later, when Bruce was deciding to wage his war on crime, he returned to the cave and built it into the Batcave, one of the greatest superhero bases in comic books. Over the years, theBatcave has been inconsistent in its size, butDC has definitively shown just how big the place really is.

The Batcave has many entrances. One can enter it through Wayne Manor in several different areas; it has a vehicle opening, usually behind a waterfall; it even has an entrance that leads out to the Gotham river. All of these openings letBatman get around Gotham quickly, but this new revelation goes a step further. Batman states thatthere are several entrances to the Batcave that connect to abandoned buildingsthat Wayne Enterprises has bought, allowing Batman to pop up all around Gotham City, seemingly appearing from the shadows as he exits from one of these buildings.

Batman’s Classic Appearing and Disappearing Trick Is All Thanks to the Batcave
Batman has extensive ninja training, so no one ever really questioned how he was able to just appear out of the shadows at random. It wasn’t really a question worth asking, but DC still went through the trouble of giving it an explanation. Gotham City is a big city; having access to random buildings around town is a fantastic way to appear without being seen. As Batman himself states, the Batmobile has a habit of announcing itself. While most fans never gave much thought to howBatmanappears around town, DC still managed to give a pretty satisfying answer.
