It didn’t take long for Kenny and Armando to become everyone’sfavorite90 Day Fiancécouple, although a few viewers could see through the façade.Kenny and Armando’s perfectly manicuredfor TV relationship has its cracks, which, although they aren’t deep, might be potentially dangerous. A look at how Kenny and Armando’s money issues and baby drama are only the surface-level indication of much larger issues that are bubbling underneath and might eventually tear them apart.

8Kenny & Armando May Be Under Financial Pressure
Is Kenny & Armando’s Expensive Lifestyle Creating Financial Stress?
Kenny andArmando’s social media pages reveal that they live life king-size. They have embraced luxury and aesthetics in their lifestyle, with every moment they share on IG looking like it belongs in a movie. They visit the trendiest of places, attend concerts, travel overseas, and wear the most stylish clothes and accessories. However, living life to the fullest comes at a cost and although the couple has not admitted to having money problems, there have been signs. Armando and Kenny’s baby journey almost came to a halt in season 5.
“We picked an egg donor and she went through the whole process, and the day she’s supposed to come in, she ghosted the clinic.”

The entire process cost over $74,000 and they had to go through it again. It means that the cost of having a baby alone came up to almost $150,000 for the couple. No one knows if it’s been successful, but it doesn’t look like Kenny and Armando are hiding a newborn baby, so the money seems to have eventually gone down the drain. The financial loss could be too much for Kenny and Armando to recover from, considering they haven’t been on the show for a while and have resorted to alternate modes to make money, like selling storybooks online.
7Armando Wants A Baby More Than Kenny Does
Kenny Tried To Persuade Armando Against It But Failed
Kenny used to work as a real estate agent back home. He retired from it when he moved to Mexico. Most of the money towards the baby journey could have come from Kenny’s savings, since Armando didn’t have a full-time job and worked as a freelance architect. Kenny never said it out loud, but the reason why he didn’t want a baby could have been the money aspect and not his age. Kenny already had four grown kids with grandkids in the U.S. but Armando pushed him to have another baby with him. Moreover, Armando was opposed to adopting a child.
20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now
Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.
Armando was only thinking about himself when Kenny had sacrificed his entire life for him. Armando’s difficult behavior during TOW season 5 came to light when he agreed to move to Mexico City only because it gave him access to better fertility treatment options, particularly surrogacy. He didn’t seem to understand his 61-year-old husband’s POV, who wasn’t keen on changing diapers and knew that Armando was going to be raising that kid mostly by himself in 10–15 years.

6Kenny Wouldn’t Learn Spanish For Armando
It Was The Bare Minimum Yet Kenny Made It Look Impossible
Kenny drew a line when it came to going out of his way to keep Armando happy. He outright refused to learn Spanish. On his first day in Mexico, Armando told Kenny that he needed to start learning some Spanish, at least “the basics.” Armando tried to teach Kenny how to say “Bienvenidos,” which means “Welcome” in English, and Kenny tried to mess up the pronunciation on purpose. Armando told the cameras that Kenny knew “practically nothing” and predicted that it was going to be a challenge for him. Five years later, Kenny still doesn’t know the language.
“I think Kenny not knowing Spanish could be a potentially bigger problem in Mexico City.”

While Kenny wanted to move to Mexico City, he made zero attempts at learning Spanish. Armando pointed out how it was not going to be the same as walking into their previous local supermarket. Kenny had to ask the vendors what he needed. He didn’t even have a translator app on his phone. Kenny later claimed that he had dyslexia. However, Kenny not knowing Spanish meant that there would be more work and responsibility falling on Armando.
5Kenny Seemed Uncomfortable In Mexico For A Long Time
Kenny Faced An Obvious Culture Shock
Kennyhad expected a “bit of a”culture shock when he moved to Mexico. He knew that the country was far from what he was used to. He called it “rundown” and described it as a place that he would have avoided in the States. He felt disgusted when he saw a woman using her bare hands to cook at a local restaurant. He expected her to wear gloves. “Does every restaurant here just serve Mexican?” he ignorantly asked the cameras. He complained about how he was not going to go out on the street by himself.
He didn’t even know how the currency worked.
Kenny was surprised by how uncomfortable he felt because he had been there on vacation. Kenny cribbed about having to eat guacamole because he didn’t like it. He was grossed out by having to use a traditional Mexican bathroom at a taco stand because it didn’t have a flush. It was “nothing like he’d seen before.” He wanted to throw his shoes out after using it. It wasn’t Armando’s fault that the bathroom was dirty, but Kenny made him feel like it was his responsibility, since it was his country and he acted like a grumpy baby.
4Armando’s Tragic Past Cast A Long Shadow
Armando’s Still Grieving The Loss Of His Family
Armando’s late wife passed away a few months after he came out to her. She was Armando’s childhood sweetheart. He’d known he was gay when he was growing up but pushed his feelings aside because society expected him to be a macho man. Armando and his ex-wife separated and decided to get a divorce, but she was pregnant at the time with their second child. She had anger issues which added to their relationship problems. Armando met her on the evening of her passing and the couple argued. He decided to leave the situation and head back home.
As Armando was driving down the highway, he was suddenly struck from behind and “hit again” moments later. He realized it was his ex-wife, and before he knew it she lost control of her vehicle and passed away on the scene. Armando seems to be carrying the guilt of his ex-wife and child’s death in his heart even though so many years have passed. The death of his unborn child also pushed Armando to want to have a baby again.

3Kenny’s Kids May Not Be Totally Approving Of His Relationship
Kenny’s Kids Doubt Armando’s Intentions
Kenny’s kids have often expressed disapproval of his relationship with Armando. Kenny and Armando’s significant age gap and Kenny’s desire to have another child at his older age, which his children see as impractical and burdensome for them as they would be responsible for caring for a younger sibling later in life. Kenny’s kids are almost the same age as Armando, which makes the entire situation so messy. They don’t agree with Kenny having a new baby with Armando as it would be an added responsibility for them in later years.
90 Day Fiancé’s Armando might be looking at the situation like Kenny’s kids still not accepting him after he’s spent years with the American man and proved they’re in it for the long run. Armando can’t move to the U.S. because he wishes to keep his minor daughter with a dead parent closer to her grandparents. Kenny’s kids are adults with their own lives, and they need to understand that it’s okay for them to let their dad go live his life.
2Armando Is Way Younger Than Kenny
Armando & Kenny Have A 26-Year Gap
Although Kenny’s youthful looks don’t make him look his age, there is a significant age gap between him and Armando that cannot be ignored. Red flags in age-gap relationships can include power imbalance where the older partner wants control while the younger partner has to deal with differences in their life goals. It was evident when it came to the baby topic and exposed the unhealthy dynamic within Armando and Kenny’s relationship. Kenny tries his best to not dismiss Armando’s opinions. Armando likes to be pampered by his older partner.
Like with some age-gap relationships, Kenny doesn’t seem to have a jealous streak, but then again, the cameras have only explored the positive side of this relationship. However, Armando does use the age difference to his advantage when he cries to get what he wants until Kenny finally gives in. Kenny has tried to please Armando over and over, and invested thousands in the surrogacy, which has been nothing but emotionally draining, and it wouldn’t have been the only time that Armando got his way in the relationship.
1Kenny’s Got An Ego
Kenny Is Self-Centered & Entitled
Kenny’s arrogance towards Armando’s culture is one thing, but he also continued to be entitled and behaved as if the world revolved around him on several occasions. Kenny comes from a privileged life and can’t seem to understand or empathize with Armando’s issues, especially when it comes to Armando’s not accepting his choices. Kenny’s selfishness has peeked out during situations. The privileged Kenny couldn’t understand Armando’s dilemma regarding his family, because he couldn’t comprehend Armando’s relationship with his dad.
