As some may recall fromWill Trentseason 1, Crystal was the daughter of the woman Lenny Broussard was dating after getting out of prison. Lenny abused Angie when she was a kid, and she knew Lenny hadn’t changed during his years in lockup. Unfortunately, Angie was right. Crystal was Lenny’s latest victim, and the abuse was extremely traumatizing, of course. 9Crystal Died Running From Angie
Angie Was The First To Learn Crystal Was The Serial Killer
Angie, who had been helping Crystal get back on her feet, was the first to learn that the young woman’s killing streak hadn’t stopped after Lenny. Duringthe twist-filledWill Trentseason 2 finale, Angie put the pieces together and concluded Crystal was the serial killer Will, Faith, and Ormewood were looking for. She tried confronting Crystal herself. Unfortunately, though,Angie’s attempts to get through to the teenager ended in the worst way possible.
Angie found Crystal in the woods with her next victim, who the older woman scared off. However, Crystal got spooked, too, and ran from Angie.TheWill Trentmain characterchased her to a river which Crystal attempted to cross, but she slipped on a rock and fell, hitting her head in the process. 8Will Discovered Angie Lied About Lenny’s Death
Crystal Killed Lenny In Season 1
After Crystal died, it was only a matter of time before the truth behind Lenny’s death surfaced. Unfortunately, it was Will who put the pieces together. To refresh fans' memories, Crystal murdered Lenny inWill Trentseason 1 andAngie helped cover up the crime by asserting that she killed the older man in self-defense.Michael Ormewood (who seemingly got away scot-free) helped Angie. However, once Crystal was gone, there was nowhere for Angie to hide.
While making his decision, Will imagined his possible future with Angie duringWill Trentseason 2’s ending. He saw them having kids and growing old together.

7Will Arrested Angie In The Will Trent Season 2 Finale
Will Was Torn Over Choosing Angie Or The Law
Will knew he couldn’t ignore whatAngie had done during the polarizingWill Trentseason 2 finale. While he wanted so desperately to save Angie, he couldn’t this time. Part of the reason whyWill and Angie’s relationship has been so tumultuous is because of his constant need to save her, which greatly angers Angie. However, Will chose his job/the law/his morals during season 2’s ending and arrested “the love of his life.”
At the beginning ofWill Trentseason 2, episode 10, “Do You See the Vision?,” Amanda Wagner offered Angie a job at the GBI. Following her arrest, though, that offer is likely off the table.
Will walked up to Angie in the precinct and announced he was putting herunder arrest for tampering with evidence and making false statements in regard to Lenny’s case.Afterward, Angie heartbreakingly told him, “I thought you might choose me.” Police officers took Angie away, and Will was obviously heartbroken, despite knowing he was doing the right thing at the end ofWill Trentseason 2.
6Will Disappeared After Arresting Angie
Amanda Discovered Will’s House Abandoned
Even though Will didn’t choose Angie inWill Trentseason 2, episode 10, that didn’t mean his decision was easy. And after arresting her, Will’s broken heart convinced him to run away.Amanda later showed up at Will’s house looking for him. However, she just found Nico, who informed the GBI Deputy Director of Will’s absence, leaving everyone wonderingwhere Will went at the end ofWill Trentseason 2.
It’s unclear where Will went, but it was obvious that he needed to get away from everything after breaking his relationship with Angie.
Will packed a duffel, told Nico they could move into the main house, gave them enough money to pay for utilities for a while, and took Betty with him when he left. WhenWill Trentseason 3 releases, the premiere will pick up months after Will’s disappearance. It’s unclear where Will went, but it was obvious that he needed to get away from everything after breaking his relationship with Angie. According to Ramón Rodríguez’s interview withTVLine, Will is a brand new man in season 3. He teased:
“Will has taken some time to get away, to reflect, to be alone … to walk away from anything that he has known … [Will has] pushed past certain things that he normally doesn’t, [which] is why we’re able to introduce him in a new way at the top of season 3, where he’s somebody who isnotso rigid.”
5Amanda Continued Lying About Planting Evidence On A Suspect Decades Ago
Faith Was Disappointed In Amanda
Although it may not seem like it, notevery big moment inWill Trentseason 2happened during the finale. Earlier in the season, Amanda confronted her past when her former offender got out of jail and began stalking her. The audience (and Will and Faith Mitchell) later learned that the only reason why he was in prison was because Amanda planted evidence on him decades ago. She knew he was a repeat offender. However,Amanda could never form a case solid enough for the judicial system,so, she took matters into her own hands.
WhenWill Trentreturns with season 3, Amanda and Faith will likely still be dealing with the fallout from season 2, episode 5, “Capt. Duke Wagner’s Daughter.”
While Amanda confessed her past actions to Will and Faith, she never came clean to the GBI. In order to keep her job, Amanda had to continue lying. Unfortunately,Amanda’s deceit dramatically affected her relationship with Faith. The younger woman was quite disappointed in Amanda and let her know it, forever changing their dynamic. WhenWill Trentreturns with season 3, Amanda and Faith will likely still be dealing with the fallout from season 2, episode 5, “Capt. Duke Wagner’s Daughter.”

This Underrated Netflix Thriller From 2022 Is Great To Watch While Waiting For Will Trent Season 3

It’s unknown if Faith will make her romance with Luke official inWill Trentseason 3. Since the premiere picks up months after the season 2 finale,it’s very possible that Faith completely severed ties with Luke.Or, they could be in a full-blown relationship. Whatever the case, Faith deserves to be happy, whether that means she is with Luke or if she is single, and the premiere should reveal that.
3Gina Is Divorcing Ormewood
Gina Also Wants Custody Of Their Kids
As for developments concerning Ormewood thatWill Trentfans should remember before season 3, his family is essentially falling apart. His wife, Gina, checked herself into a mental health facility earlier in the season, and Ormewood grew closer to his children as a result of being their sole provider. He certainly hasn’t been the bestWill Trentcharacter since its premiere. However,Ormewood grew a lot and attempted to fix his past mistakes in season 2.Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough for Gina.
Gina also told Ormewood that she planned on moving far away and taking their two children with her, gutting Ormewood. He isn’t about to let his kids go without a fight, though.

Will Trent Season 3 Resolves Angie’s Cliffhanger Fate With A Cop Out
The Will Trent season 2 finale ended on a massive cliffhanger concerning Angie Polaski, but the first look at season 3 spoils its resolution.
James may very well be Will’s father, which would be rather unfortunate for the GBI agent. The ABC police procedural TV series isn’t afraid to put Will through the wringer, though, meaning James could still be his dad. Ultimately,Will Trentseason 3 has to continue exploring Will’s past, just as season 2 did by having him recover his repressed memory of a traumatic event from his childhood and find his uncle. Perhaps Will finally learns who his biological father is in season 3.

Dr. Seth McDale
Will Trentseason 3’s new casting all but confirms the end of Will and Angie’s relationshipafter the season 2 finale. Both are engaging in new romances, seemingly moving on from one another.
