Summary

WithPower Book IV: Forcecoming to an end, the series has a number of stories and character arcs that it must wrap up before season 3 concludes. Although the first two seasons were a success, Starz confirmed thatPower Book IV: Forcewould endwith its third installment, withPower Book II: Ghostalso being axed in favor of a new spinoff. While the cancelation came as a slight surprise, season 3 seems like a good place to tie up Tommy’s spinoff, but the show still has plenty to resolve before it closes the book on this story.

The series followed Tommy Egan’s journey after the events ofPowerseason 6’s finaleand introduced a fresh environment alongside interesting new characters. Having ditched New York for Chicago, Tommy became an even bigger drug dealer and slowly fought off his competition, creating numerous enemies in the process. Despite his business being healthier than ever, the protagonist still has a lot of obstacles to overcome if he wants some sort of happy ending, and with key side characters also having compelling, unfinished narratives,Forceseason 3 must include resolutions to its major storiesand deliver a quality conclusion.

I’m Much More Excited About Power Book IV: Force’s Tommy & Diamond Story After This Major Announcement

One major announcement regarding Power Book IV: Force has made me even more excited about Tommy and Diamond’s upcoming season 3 storyline.

10Jenard Must Be Killed Off Before The Finale

Jenard has been one ofForce’s main antagonists throughout its two seasons, but the character must be killed off before the show’s finale. ThePowerfranchise has been cruel to those who betray the central characters, even if they have good reason, meaning Jenard has little hope of surviving the series. He has backstabbed his brother on numerous occasionsand, despite being given multiple second chances by everyone around him, he is still scheming to take down Tommy from within his organization.

Tommy was cautious about giving him another chance, but Diamond wanted his brother to turn his life around despite their complicated past, resulting in Jenard still being involved in CBI. Given the villain will be spending most of the season working against Tommy, it only seems fitting that he is dealt with once and for all. However, since he isn’t the main antagonist, it would make more sense for him to meet his demise before the finale, allowing the final episodes to focus on Miguel and any of Tommy’s other remaining enemies.

9Tommy Has To Fix His Relationship With JP Gibbs

JP Gibbs Was Right To Be Upset With Tommy

WhileForcehas focused largely on the drug game and the violence that surrounds it, seeing Tommy interact with his long-lost brother has been a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, their relationship took some serious damage towards the end of season 2 after JP Gibbs found out Tommy gave their mother drugs, despite her being a recovering addict. Tommy’s relationship with his mother has often been toxic throughout the franchise, even in the mainPowerseries, but it is impossible to justify his actions in this instance.

Although the protagonist has often treated JP Gibbs well and tried to keep his family away from his drug business, this moment rightfully made JP mad, resulting in him cutting ties with his brother. Therefore, it’s on Tommy to try and make amends, and this needs to happen before season 3 ends. While his drug empire and relationship with Mireya may seem like the most important things,Tommy’sPower Book IV: Forceendingwouldfeel incomplete without patching things up with his family, proving the final season has to address this storyline.

8Vic Needs To Find Some Sort Of Redemption

Vic Deserves A Chance At A New Life Despite His Past Mistakes

Is trying to create a better life after losing everything important to him

Vic has made his fair share of mistakes duringForce’s two seasons, but despite being one of Tommy’s enemies for a large part of the show, he has slowly become more likable. His father clearly had a big influence on why he was so hateful, and after finally standing up to him, he has become a bit of an underdog. Although Vic is still far from perfect, he seems to genuinely want to put his past behind him and is trying to create a better life after losing everything important to him.

The FBI hasn’t made this easy for him though, as they manipulated Vic into becoming an informant, meaning a happy ending will be difficult. Snitches don’t usually make it out alive inPower, which stacks the odds are stacked against Vic, but he deserves a chance to redeem himself and flee the city. Telling Tommy about his FBI connections and outsmarting them could lead to both characters exiting the series with their lives, andit could be the key to Vic getting a fresh start away from his family’s criminal history.

Power Book IV: Force’s Cancellation Reminds Me Of Another Starz Underrated Drama’s Demise

Power Book IV: Force’s out of the blue cancellation after three seasons is reminiscent of the demise of another underrated Starz drama.

7Claudia Must Return As A Major Antagonist

Claudia Has Been One Of Force’s Best Villains

Power Book IV: Forcehas had plenty of villains so far, but Claudia has been one of the most compelling, and she must return before the show ends. Despite Claudia having great ideas for her family’s drug business, her father always prioritized Vic, leading to the antagonist starting a new pipeline. Her creative ideas and ambitious goals made Claudia stand out from many of the other villains, but she also had plenty of flaws and clearly relied on her father’s money and protection to make her business thrive.

Therefore, afterWalter Flynn’s death inPower: Force, Claudia struggled to remain a major player in Chicago and had to constantly adapt. Unlike the show’s other villains,Forceshowed Claudia’s inexperience and stress tryingto simply keep up with all the other drug dealers in the city, which made her more complex and interesting than her competition. While she isn’t worthy of a happy ending, her return would help spice up the show - especially after she was stabbed in prison - and give Tommy another foe to worry about.

6Tommy Needs To Have A Non-Tragic Love Story

Power Hasn’t Been Kind To Tommy’s Previous Love Interests

Happy couples are a rarity inPower, but Tommy’s romantic story with Mireya should end peacefully. His track record with love interests in thePoweruniverse has been incredibly dark, as he killed his pregnant girlfriend Holly after finding out she tried to have Ghost killed. In addition, LaKeisha was also killed after getting too involved in Tommy’s life, showing how tragic his past relationships have been. However,Forcecould change this by having Tommy rescue Mireya, giving them some form of happiness even if they aren’t together.

Staying with Tommy is bound to get Mireya killed in the future unless the protagonist exits the drug game for good, which seems unlikely. Still, the two could at least have a final embrace before going their separate ways. While Tommy seems to deeply care about Miryea, the drug game will always be his true love, but managing to save her from Miguel’s wrath and potentially setting her up witha new life would be a nice ending to their story, which the show needs to provide.

5Diamond Has To Become Independent Of Tommy

Diamond Could Still Be A Major Player After Force Ends

Season 2’s finale teased a potential rift between Tommy and Diamond, and while the two shouldn’t end up feuding with one another, Diamond does have to become independent. Given Tommy is easily one of thePoweruniverse’s best characters, it has been hard for Diamond to truly shine while being in a partnership with the protagonist. He is still a great character and has had some interesting arcs, but that is exactly why he has to try and put some distance between himself and Tommy.

Diamond could become a big player going forward, as he has the potential to appear in future spinoff shows, but he still needs to prove he is interesting enough on his own. Whether he starts his own supply chain, moves cities, or simply exits the drug world entirely, Diamond starting an independent venture while remaining allies with Tommy seems like the best move. Even if Diamond’s ending is left open-ended,the series must give Diamond a chance to thrive independently in season 3,especially if the franchise wants to utilize him in the future.

4Miguel Has To Receive A Brutal Ending

The Drug Lord Has Committed Some Terrible Acts

Miguel has been portrayed as a ruthless drug lord who shows no mercy - even among his own people - proving he deserves a brutal ending. Walter Flynn was given a rather ironic death, as he was killed by his son who he had mistreated throughout the show, highlighting howForcetreats its main villains. His demise was fitting given how cruel and selfish he was, which suggests Miguel could face a similar fate. Rather than dying by a simple gunshot, the antagonist should be given a more gruesome exit considering the damage he has inflicted on others.

Alongside frequently murdering and torturing people, Miguel froze a man’s hand before smashing it with a hammer and even kidnapped his own sister, proving the extreme lengths he will go to. His sadistic actions show how little humanity he has, and there is definitely no redemption on the cards. As a result,Forcehas to ensure the antagonist doesn’t get off lightly, and he should feel the same kind of pain and hopelessness as some of his victims.

3Bobby Must Do Some Damage To The Chicago Drug Trade

Bobby Is One Of The Few Characters Who Truly Cares About The People Of Chicago

It’s clear the US attorney is much more obsessed with catching the big players and boosting her career, rather than truly helping the city

In a show where even the heroes are criminals, it is easy to lose sight of the characters trying to do good, and Bobby is one of the few people genuinely attempting to clean up Chicago. While law enforcement is usually treated as the biggest enemy in thePowerfranchise, it’s clear Bobby actually has good intentions and wants to see his city thrive. He was outraged after a child was caught in the crossfire of a gang war and seemed determined to put criminals away for the right reasons, unlike Stacy.

Despite Bobby and Stacy working together on taking down Chicago’s drug ring, it’s clear the US attorney is much more obsessed with catching the big players and boosting her career, rather than truly helping the city. Her impulsive actions and rash decision-making are what lead toTommy and the CBI outsmarting the FBI during season 2’s finale, which is why Bobby should take over the investigation. He deserves a big win inForce’s last season, and while he may not be able to catch everyone, denting the drug trade in Chicago would make the community a little bit safer.

How To Watch Power & All Power Book Spinoffs In Order

The 2014 Starz crime drama television series Power generated three spinoffs – read on for all the different ways to watch the shows in order.

2A Major Cameo Should Happen During The Finale

While some franchises are guilty of overusing cameos,Powerhasn’t suffered from this and a familiar face would be welcome forForce’s finale. Liliana is the only major character from the original show to make an unexpected appearance in the spinoff, and she ended up playing an integral role throughout season 1. Since her death, there haven’t been any big cameos in the series, but it would be great to see Tommy reunite with someone long-term fans are familiar with.

There aren’t too many surviving characters from the main show that could feature in the finale, but havingTommy run into Tariq or Tasha could be a huge moment, and an interaction with Ghost would be even bigger.Tommy essentially replaced Ghost in his Powerspinoff and became the main protagonist, so seeing him potentially hallucinate his former ally could be a fun way to bring Omari Hardwick back for a one-off cameo. The duo having one final conversation would be a nice full-circle moment, and it would help set up Tommy and Ghost’s prequel series,Power Book V: Origins.

1Tommy Needs To Have A Definitive Ending

The Power Franchise Can’t Keep Relying On Tommy

Regardless of whetherPowerplans on bringing back Joseph Sikora’s iconic character, Tommy Egan needs a definitive ending inForce. While fleeing New York in the main show’s finale somewhat concluded his story, his spinoff was essential to properly finishing his journey, but the series can’t afford another open-ended departure. Theconfirmation thatPower Book IV: Forceseason 3is the last installment of the show means it has to shake up Tommy’s life and force him to make a major decision.

He is too comfortable being a drug dealer in the current story, and simply ending with him fending off his competition would feel like sequel bait. AlthoughPower: Forceshouldn’t kill off its protagonist, it could potentially have him give up his life in Chicago to start a family with Mireya or leave the city to protect his loved ones, which could offer him some closure. Tommy is arguably the most popular character still alive in the franchise, butPowercan’t keep relying on him, and the final season must give him a fitting send-off.

Power Book IV: Force

Power Book IV: Force follows Tommy Egan as he departs New York for Chicago, aiming to disrupt and dominate the local drug scene. As an outsider, he bends the entrenched rules to establish himself as the most influential drug dealer in the city. Released in early 2022, it continues the Power franchise.
