1The Many Faces Of Andy Serkis
There are few names in geeky pop culture circles more venerated than the iconic Andy Serkis. The British actor is a groundbreaking force in cinema, pioneering the idea of motion-captured CGI performances with characters like Gollum from theLord of the Ringstrilogy or King Kong in Peter Jackson’s take on the classic creature feature of the same name. Serkis even proved that such an animated character could lead a franchise, doing so as Caesar in Matt Reeves’Planet of the Apessequel trilogy.
Andy Serkis is just as talented an actor without motion-capture dots covering his every move as he is with them. Serkis has played in many more traditional roles as well, notably superhero characters like Alfred inThe Batmanand Ulysses Klaue inBlack Panther. It’s safe to say that Andy Serkis' panel at 3:15pm in Theater #2 will be among the most heavily attended atMegaCon Orlando.
